PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITY - November 13, 2006
Seeking qualifications from visual artists/artist teams living and working in North America, who have experience with permanent materials suitable to creating designs for downtown streetscape. Artists will work closely with selected engineering firm to develop designs that will integrate public art throughout the streetscape on selected major streets in downtown Cary. Priority areas for public art: Street Furniture (benches, tree guards and grates, lighting, bus shelters), Traffic Management (paving of crosswalks, sidewalks, etc.), and Signage (gateways, way finding elements, etc.). Total budget: $80,000. $700 stipend for each artist/artist team.
