YEARLY ART GRANT - May 26, 2010

This new award will allow Southern Exposure to offer an annual $15,000 prize to an emerging artist to develop and create a new public art project in the San Francisco Bay Area. With the support of The Graue Family Foundation, Southern Exposure will commission two major public projects in the Bay Area in 2011 and 2012 through two, annual open calls for proposals. In each round of this program, SoEx will select one project for realization and offer a $15,000 award. ENVIRONMENTAL ART EXHIBITION - May 15, 2010

Interlochen Center for the Arts, located in Michigan, is seeking submissions for an exhibition based on the environment. The artwork submitted can draw inspiration/reference from a variety of environmental issues - ecosystems, watersheds, Gaia, nature, ecology, biology, urban, rural, etc. Work will be selected by the gallery committee and the exhibition will take place in 2011. Submissions should include a brief description of the work and access to no less than 6 images of your work.

CALL FOR INDIANAPOLIS INSTALLATION ART PROPOSALS - April 27, 2010

Seeking installation art for a unique June exhibition in Indianapolis. Artists will submit a proposal to create an installation piece within the confines of a 20-foot metal shipping container. From the submitted proposals, a jury will select seven projects and give artists each $750 to create his or her vision. Selected artists must be available to set their installation up in Indianapolis during the week of the event, beginning Monday, May 31, 2010. Pieces will highlight Installation Nation, a weekend exhibition taking place on Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, 2010. Entry fee.
