Artwork will be featured in the University Gallery or the Harry Krug Gallery housed in Porter Hall Department of Art Building. The 2011 season of the WESTend is now open for artists who are interested in having their work displayed in a special area of the Gallery. We are looking for proposals that are "outside the box" and challenge our local viewing public to view the world in a different way or with a fresh perspective. Since the WESTend is a "special" exhibition space, we want our exhibits occupying it to be just as "special" and out of the ordinary, to be a tool to expand our communities viewing experience and not always your typical exhibition.

This new award will allow Southern Exposure to offer an annual $15,000 prize to an emerging artist to develop and create a new public art project in the San Francisco Bay Area. With the support of The Graue Family Foundation, Southern Exposure will commission two major public projects in the Bay Area in 2011 and 2012 through two, annual open calls for proposals. In each round of this program, SoEx will select one project for realization and offer a $15,000 award. SAN JOSE STREET ART FESTIVAL - April 14, 2010
AbsoluteZER0 is a vibrant street festival where the public can engage with art, music, science, and technology in new and interesting ways outside on city streets. The event is free and open to the public. The street festival will take place from 6:00 pm to midnight on Friday, September 17, 2010. ZER01 is inviting artists and artist teams to apply for a micro-grant (up to $500) towards the creation of a project, hands-on activity, or performance. Artists are challenged to address the Biennial theme Build Your Own World and imagine not just what is next, but work to ensure what’s next matters.

Now excepting exhibition proposals from individual artists and collaborative groups on an ongoing basis. Works in any media by artists at various stages in their career will be considered, but preference will be given to emerging and mid-career artists whose work presents a significant, provocative approach to making and thinking about art. Fort Dearborn-Chicago Photo Forum is celebrating its 115th anniversary in 2010. In honor of the occasion, the we are hosting an international competition. We have a long history of hosting photography competitions: our first was in 1900 and was a joint salon with the Art Institute of Chicago. The current competition will be our first competition conducted online. More than $8,000 in prizes, a photo exhibit of the winning images in a Chicago art gallery and Rangefinder Magazine, a prestigious national photography magazine, will be publishing the top winners. CALL FOR INDIANAPOLIS INSTALLATION ART PROPOSALS - April 27, 2010
Seeking installation art for a unique June exhibition in Indianapolis. Artists will submit a proposal to create an installation piece within the confines of a 20-foot metal shipping container. From the submitted proposals, a jury will select seven projects and give artists each $750 to create his or her vision. Selected artists must be available to set their installation up in Indianapolis during the week of the event, beginning Monday, May 31, 2010. Pieces will highlight Installation Nation, a weekend exhibition taking place on Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, 2010. Entry fee.

PROJEKT30'S JUNE 2010 EXHIBITION - June 1, 2010
We are currently seeking submissions for our June 2010 Exhibition. The exhibition will include 30 artists; invitations will be sent to our proven mailing list of 1000s of galleries, collectors, and fellow artists. All Projekt30 exhibitions are publicly juried, meaning artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors may help select which artists will graduate to the final 30. CALL FOR "SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS" ART - October 1, 2010
Presenting affordable art of all media in one of the art world's international hubs, from December 9-12, 2010, when buyers will be out in force. This juried fair allows artists and artist cooperatives to interact directly with collectors aboard a 228 foot megayacht, which features 28 individual gallery spaces. A series of special events also highlight the fair schedule, and regional gallery owners are invited to meet with participating artists and view their work, making possible future gallery representation.
