PROJEKT30's JANUARY 2011 EXHIBITION - December 1, 2010

The Roberto Cimetta Fund and Marseille-Provence 2013 announce an upcoming selection date for the joint RCF/Marseille-Provence 2013 Mobility Fund in 2010. Many interresting effects can be achieved by using more than one medium. Often, found objects are used in conjunction with traditional artist media, such as paints and graphite. In this manner, many different elements of art become more flexible than with traditional artist media. CALL FOR LEISURE THEMED ART FROM DESIGNERS & ARCHITECTS - December 10, 2010

Kickin’ Back is a juried competition that invites designers and architects from the Mid-Atlantic region to reflect on the concept of leisure and submit objects, renderings or prototypes that either complement and/or comment upon what constitutes contemporary states of rest or play. From public spaces such as retail environments and parks, to objects that provide comfort or promote interaction in private environments, you are asked for work that provokes questions about what surrounds us in our daily lives, and elaborate on how design impacts our downtime. FREE "ARTS TUNE-UP" IN LOS ANGELES - November 10, 2010

The fast-paced "arts tune-up" format works like this: There will be several tables set up with an arts expert/consultant addressing a specific subject located at each table. Participants choose a topic they want to learn more about. After 25 minutes, participants rotate to another table with a topic of interest as the sessions repeat. There will be a total of 5 round-robin sessions of 25 minutes each. Participants are welcome to come by for an hour or stay for the entire morning.

CALL FOR TEMPTING EQUILIBRIUM THEMED SUBMISSIONS - November 1, 2010

This is a juried exhibition presented in conjunction with the annual SGC International Printmaking Conference, hosted by Washington University in St. Louis in March 2011. The exhibition is an examination of the conference theme Equilibrium—a celebration of contemporary printmaking and a look at the shifting landscape of the field. A new Downtown Partnership program called Operation: Storefront aims to match individuals or groups seeking space with available first floor spaces in Downtown, thereby putting Downtown storefronts back into “operation”. Downtown Partnership is seeking proposals from individual artists and artist teams, established or aspiring retailers and restaurateurs, and creative entrepreneurs, nonprofits or companies to occupy, activate, and utilize empty first floor space for creative enterprises. Successful applicants will receive grants of up to $10,000 to support costs associated with the occupation of, and operation at, a selected vacant first floor space. Tenant applicants are welcome and encouraged to include a proposal for a specific space, or Downtown Partnership staff will work with applicants to determine an appropriate no or low-cost space after their bid has been chosen.
