JURIED BOOK COMPETITION - June 7, 2011

Open to Interpretation is a juried book competition bringing together photographers, poets, and writers. Each book begins with a themed call for photos. The chosen images become the literary inspiration for the writers' submissions. A book is created that matches each winning photo with two stories or poems that offer different interpretations of the image. Create Now provides creative arts mentoring, education, resources and opportunities to thousands of the most vulnerable children and youth, ages 2-25, in Southern California. We serve kids who have been abused, neglected, orphaned, are left homeless, teen parents, substance abusers, victims of domestic violence or incarcerated. We need an intern this summer to help with a number of projects, like helping to organize tickets to concerts and plays, fundraising, program development and marketing. While this is an unpaid internship, we will provide you with a letter of reference and school credits if possible. You will also have the chance to attend fantastic cultural events, along with our youth.

Trinity Financial invites artists to forward qualifications for a sculptural tribute to Vince A. Droser to be permanently installed in Peabody Square, Dorchester. The work to be commissioned is envisioned to be an "art installation with a surprise". Appropriate artworks should be small enough for easy handling by no more than two people or smaller and can include small installation or video work with a sculptural component. ARTIST IN RESIDENCE UTAH ZION NATIONAL PARK - July 22, 2011

The residency offers professional artists the opportunity to live and work in the majestic desert environment of southern Utah for a period of four weeks. Artist will also receive a $300 stipend to assist with travel and supply expenses. ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES EXHIBITION - June 10, 2011

Fifteen artists will be selected for the exhibition and will share $60,000 in cash awards: a $20,000 grand prize, a $10,000 first award, a $6,000 second award, and 12 awards of excellence of $2,000 each. The exhibition takes place at the Smithsonian Institution's S. Dillon Ripley Center in Washington, D.C., from September 2011 to January 2012 and will travel nationally to college and university galleries and art museums for up to two years. The Cabbagetown BIA is looking for artistic vendors (hand-made jewellery, crafts, etc) to apply to participate as a vendor in our 35th annual Cabbagetown Festival. The street festival takes place in Toronto’s Old Cabbagetown at Carlton and Parliament.
The festival runs for two days on Saturday September 10th and Sunday September 11th. The fee for two days (the duration of the festival) is $250. The fee for one day is $150. This includes a 10ft by 10ft space along the festival route. You would be required to bring all of the equipment and supplies needed such as chairs, tables, tents etc.

$1-MILLION PRODUCTION FUND FOR AFRICAN FILMMAKERS - October 1, 2011

The Hot Docs-Blue Ice Film Documentary Fund will disburse six to ten grants each year to successful applicants for projects in various stages of production. Grants will range from $10,000 to $40,000. CALL FOR PUBLIC ART PROPOSALS - June 13, 2011

The call is open to emerging professional artists living within 100 miles of Seattle. The Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the Department of Finance and Administrative Services (DFAS) and Triad Development, Inc, seeks up to eight emerging artists to develop temporary, large-scale, colorful panels for the fence surrounding the Civic Square construction site in downtown Seattle. The Civic Square site is located between Third and Fourth avenues and Cherry and James streets. Selected artists will receive between $1,000 and $3,000, depending on number of their images selected for the fence panels.

ANNUAL RIVER ROAD SHOW JURIED EXHIBITION - September 16, 2011

A national juried exhibition sponsored by the Louisiana Art and Artists’ Guild, is receiving entries for the Dec 5 - Jan 27, 2012, exhibit at the Louisiana State Archives building in Baton Rouge, LA. This is a national juried competition with cash prizes of $3000. All United States artists 18 years and older are invited to submit any original two-dimensional art except photography or digitally-created/enhanced works. The exhibition will be juried and judged by Pam Ingalls, renowned artist and instructor. Entry fee.

The City of Anaheim is soliciting Statements of Qualification (SOQ) from artists interested in providing public art for ARTIC. Artists interested in submitting an SOQ are encouraged to attend a Pre-Submittal Conference to be held at the City of Anaheim on May 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm or by joining the webcast conference. The City of Anaheim is seeking a variety of potential artwork(s) to be included in the ARTIC Project. Budgets for the proposed artworks can range from $100,000 to $900,000.

CALL FOR RENOVATION PROJECT PROPOSALS - September 9, 2011

The RFQ is open to all artists with no geographic restrictions. The pediment of the Church of St. Paul located at 138 Tremont Street in Boston, MA has been empty since the building’s completion in 1820. This is a prime location in Boston across from the Boston Common with views of the Massachusetts State House beyond. As part of the renovation of the cathedral, the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts has decided to commission an artist to design and produce a work of contemporary public art for this long vacant space. The UrbanArts Institute at Massachusetts College of Art and Design is facilitating the project. The budget is $200,000.
