With some art it’s obvious what the motivations were, but with others, the viewer is only left to guess. With Artwork Network’s 2010 Online Juried Show, “Art with a Story”, we want artists to let us in on the secret. Entry fee.

CALL FOR URBAN VIEW/RURAL SIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY - November 1, 2010

When artists think about place, whether it be rural or urban, they often think of it as a point of departure. One path may lead deeper into the site itself and its character, a sense artists want to absorb and express. Another path may lead away, beginning its course from connections that originated there. Perhaps a third is more fantastical, one suggested by the unexpected, yet significant, connections that the imagination creates. All of these ways are journeys and explorations that do not feel complete until they are shared. Cash prizes. The exhibition is open to amateur and professional photographers worldwide. Entry fee.

CALL FOR "AFTER DARK" THEMED PHOTOGRAPHY - September 18, 2010

As the sun sets, a whole new world of photographic opportunities presents itself. Buildings, streets and time lapse take on a different light at night. But don't stop there - ever hear of "Night life"? Carnivals? Animals? People? Theater? There is a voyeuristic feel to night images, the viewer senses that they are observing life from the shadows. Urban lights create high drama - colors intensify and shadows loom. In the country, things become scary and still. Is there just a hint of the sunset left? Time lapse can create fantastic swirls of lights creating abstract compositions. Show us what your camera sees "After Dark".
