PROJEKT30'S FEBRUARY 2011 EXHIBITION - January 1, 2011

Projekt30 is seeking submissions for our next exhibition, which will include 30 artists; invitations will be sent to our extensive mailing list of galleries, collectors, etc. It will be publicly juried, all work is presented online, site visitors select the final 30. All participants receive exposure. Projekt30 is an organization dedicated to promoting artists. Announcing a competition to commission artwork for the interior of a new recreation building to be located at Pleasant Playground in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. The Big Read is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations seeking funding to conduct month-long, community-wide reads between September 2011 and June 2012. The Big Read is a national program designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture. WINE LABEL DESIGN CONTEST - December 31, 2010

Pretense Wines is an art collaboration project in which any artist can create his own wine label--and then our team of artists and wine-lovers will select the best ones, with our winery partner, produce and sell wine using this label on the wine bottle, and their team of wine salesmen will sell it all around the country. Each winning artist will receive the first $10,000 from the wine sales. Every two weeks, we propose a new theme for the contest, the deadline for a design with that theme is 2 months later. I-PARK MULTI-DISCIPLINARY RESIDENCY PROGRAM - January 11, 2011

I-Park, a 450-acre woodland retreat in East Haddam, CT, is offering residency opportunities from May through November 2011 in the following creative disciplines: Visual (including Environmental) Art, Music Composition/Sound Sculpture, Moving Image, Creative Writing and Landscape/Garden Design. Most sessions are 4-weeks in duration. The program is offered free of charge to those accepted by the selection panels. CALL FOR MIXED MEDIA ARTISTS - December 31, 2010

Seeking submissions for a new book to be published by North Light Books in Spring 2012. Tentatively titled "The Artist’s Pulse" the premise is to take the pulse of the online artist community that loosely falls under the category of mixed media. This will be accomplished through a series of projects that include both questions and answers as well as artwork created specifically in response to prompts. While the book will include practical, art-related information, it will primarily focus on more personal and provocative issues. Deadline for Q & A: November 30, 2010. No entry fee.

JURIED EXHIBITION OF "FAMILY" THEMED ART - December 1, 2010

Family exists on many levels; families go through phases, according to the life experiences of its members. The notion of the family unit has also gone through major transformations, especially in the last 50 years. Families are also said to be reflected as a whole, as the "family of man". Animals, depending on the species, also experience complex and vital family relationships and often reflect the human condition. This exhibition will focus on the many varied expressions of "Family" and we are affected by them. We have been extremely fortunate to be creating an exciting, diverse, and active meeting place for artists. We are averaging over 50,000 viewers a month, and have provided a warm and positive virtual atmosphere since 2003. All mediums except video are eligible.

SALON PHOTO PRIZE - December 4, 2010

The Salon Photo Prize is open to international photographers working with all themes and in all formats. We expect to exhibit up to 100 practitioners, and one exhibitor will also win the Selectors’ prize of 1000 BP and a solo exhibition in 2012. This year's selection panel consists of: Simon Baker (Curator of Photography, Tate), Stefanie Braun, (Curator, The Photographers' Gallery), Tim Clark, Editor-in-chief (1000 Words Photography Magazine), Charlotte Cotton (Creative Director, National Media Museum). UNIVERSITY GALLERY SEEKS EXHIBITION PROPOSALS - January 7, 2011

The Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University is seeking submissions for a group exhibition curated by Ruth Ballester, Whitney Fehl, and Lauren Thompson. The call is open to all artists working towards expanding the definition portraiture. Portraiture: Inside Out seeks to emphasize the methods by which contemporary artists explore private identity of both the self and the other by denying formal and art historical conventions, as well as moving away from lofty social and political tendencies. BOSTON AREA COLLEGE SEEKS EXHIBITION PROPOSALS -

Frame 301 is seeking site-specific work to be exhibited monthly in its alternative, street side gallery window, located in the heart of downtown Beverly, Massachusetts. Frame 301 hosts a variety of artistic mediums and motives that strive to connect to the innovative and energetic Beverly and Montserrat communities. Proposals must include artist’s written concept, visual examples of how the artist intends to use the space, and a resume with complete contact information.

CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS - January 20, 2011

Blue Earth accepts submissions for project sponsorship from photographers twice each year, and the deadline for the next round is January 20, 2011. Our focus remains photographic projects whose goal is to educate the public about endangered cultures, threatened environments, and current topics of social concern. We work closely with our selected photographers to offer resources and support including: non-profit, fiscal sponsorship for fundraising; marketing and PR expertise; contacts for publishers, galleries and museums; technical resources like Shooting From the Heart, a Blue Earth-published instructional book for personal projects; and an experienced Advisory Board to answer questions and provide guidance.
