CALL FOR PUBLIC MUSIC PROPOSALS - January 10, 2011

The idea for Porchfest is simple. We choose one Saturday in the late spring and local musicians perform on their porches. The Arts Council will help structure the event with promotion and an online map. You the musician will need to coordinate with your neighbors to make sure it's okay to play music on the porch for a short time. If we get a lot of porches in the mix, we can structure it so sections of neighborhoods are performing at different times of the day. The audience merely travels around to check out the sounds in various neighborhoods. Think Somerville Open Studios but for music and outdoors.
