This project provides an opportunity for an individual or team of artists to create a site-specific public art project that affirms the vibrancy of Madison's Capitol Square. The total budget for the project is not to exceed $100,000. The Committee is seeking artists with the following experience: 1) design and installation of outdoor art; 2) working in a collaborative effort with multiple stakeholders; 3) interest in creating artwork that integrates well with the design of plaza; and 4) artwork that minimizes operational/maintenance costs and energy needs. The total art budget for the project is not to exceed $100,000. The selected artist (or artist team) will receive a fee of $1,500 to develop a design concept for the project and to cover travel expenses.
