SEEKING ARTS PROGRAM MANAGER - November 30, 2006
Full-time position available for program manager of community and artist partnerships. Responsibilities: oversee several grant programs of the Kansas Arts Commission, assist artists and organizations in technical and business skills, conduct workshops and lead grant-writing seminars, make site visits to organizations and artists throughout Kansas, and create on-line artist and exhibition registries, catalogues and rosters. Must have min. of 3-5 years of experience as arts management professional in visual/performing arts organization/government arts agency and hold a bachelor's degree in the arts or arts-related field. Master's degree in the arts, arts/nonprofit management or public administration is preferred. Must have engaging, outgoing personality, enjoy collaboration but can also work independently, is extremely detail-oriented, has outstanding spoken and written communication skills and understands the nature of creativity. Must enjoy developing and implementing processes and structures, be highly organized and have a deep, abiding commitment to the role that government plays in the arts and in building community.
