SEEKING ASSISTANT THEATRE PROFESSOR - November 30, 2006
Position available for Assistant Professor of Theatre. Salary range commensurate with education and experience. Responsibilities: teach various theatre courses and basic public speaking course; supervise scene shop, light booth and storage areas; be responsible for all set construction; assist with scenery, lighting and technical needs for other campus events; supervise student technical crews; and coordinate safety during production set-up and activity. Must be willing to work evenings/weekends; have ability to manage 206-seat black-box auditorium, scene, prop, lighting, and costume design for 2 plays/semester; and be able to move/lift heavy scenery and work on catwalks and ladders. Must have MFA/PhD in Theatre; at least 18 graduate hours in Speech or Communication; experience in technical theatre; and ability to keep accurate records and process purchase orders. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions. Knowledge of lighting design and basic knowledge of sound equipment and operation preferred.
