Small works are created for a reason and are unique in their message. They command a unique interaction with the viewer and inspire reactions that larger images might not. There's an intimacy to peering into a smaller subject, a motive to get close.From the beauty of a 4x5 contact print to the quaintness of a Polaroid, or a 3x3 inch print mounted on 11x11 inch board, there's a variety of reasons to work small and we want to see it. Why do you make small art? What can a smaller format bring to your vision that a larger format cannot? How does the presentation of an image effect the viewer's relationship and response to your art? Are you asking them to get close? What reaction do you want when you get them there? WWA would like to invite makers of small photo art to submit for our returning 2008 exhibit "WEE!". Entry fee.
