Tabor Community Services, Inc, with the assistance of the City of Lancaster, wishes to commission an artist or artist team to create original site specific artwork for a new urban plaza. Construction of the plaza is projected to begin in summer 2010 and be completed in early autumn, 2010. The selected artist will work closely with landscape architects and contractors to determine an art installation schedule. Tabor Community Services, Inc. envisions artwork that will be welcoming, enliven the plaza, speak to the organization's mission and allows for multiple uses of the space. This call is open to professional artists residing in Pennsylvania with experience in the design, fabrication and installation of public work. Budget: $48,000 all inclusive.
