CALL FOR PUBLIC ART PROPOSALS - October 25, 2011

Up to five artists/artist teams will be selected for a short-list phase. The artist or team will be paid a $3,000 stipend to be used for design proposal and travel. Total project budget for public art is $210,000. The winning artists/teams will collaborate on a project team that includes the City of Chattanooga, a landscape architect and Public Art Chattanooga. This RFQ is open to all established professional artists/artist teams, designers, landscape architects and architects over the age of 18 who currently reside in the United States.

We request proposals for group exhibitions from artists, curators, photographers and artist groups based in Los Angeles County to be displayed at the Annenberg Community Beach House in the Event House Gallery for a period of four (4) months. CALL FOR WRITER IN RESIDENCE - November 4, 2011

In celebration of Marion Davies' support of artists and to further the work of artists in all disciplines, the Division has established an Artist Residency program at the Beach House. The Residency begins Monday, January 16, 2012 and concludes Monday, March 26, 2012 for a total of ten weeks. The Residency is non-residential; no room/board is available. The City will provide a lockable office in the historic Marion Davies Guest House.

CERAMICS/CLAY INTERNSHIP - October 15, 2011

This internship is designed specifically for young artists interested in functional ceramics. The Ceramics Intern works closely with WSW’s Clay Program Coordinator preparing for our Annual Chili Bowl Fundraiser. During this mid-winter event, WSW warms up our local community by presenting over 800 hand made vessels for sale. The bowls and tumblers are filled with chili, cornbread, and lemonade donated by area restaurants. The revenue from this community event goes into the ceramics program to buy and maintain equipment and subsidize fellowships. This opportunity also offers a private room in a neighboring house and a stipend of $250/month.

ART EDUCATION GRANT PROGRAM - October 15, 2011

The Yellow House Fund will award three year grants to eligible local, state and/or national organizations in the United States (including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands), in increments of $10,000 per year for three years, up to $30,000 through a competitive RFP process. The first round of awardees will be announced in December 2011. Grantees will be allowed to use grant funds for the duration of the project period, which is not to exceed three years*.
