CALL FOR WALKING TOUR ART IN BALTIMORE - January 7, 2008

We are seeking projects to be included in a walking tour of a small area of Baltimore. Pedestrian Service Exquisite is a day of encountered performances, interventions, site specific installations, mini tours, and surreal moments that will be part of the Transmodern Festival April 3rd-6th, 2008. The tour will take place on Sunday April 6, 2008. The organizers promote / celebrate the diversity of experimental culture by highly representing artists from the following groups: women, ethnic minorities, gays and lesbians, the radical subculture. OREGON STUDENTS GRADES 1-12 POETRY CONTEST - February 1, 2008

ACTING FELLOWSHIPS - January 14, 2008

The program, supported by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, is designed to support an individual actor's professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships with the not-for-profit theatre and ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Recipients in the Distinguished Achievement category have considerable experience in professional theatre with a substantial body of work, and will receive a $25,000 award. Recipients in the Extraordinary Potential category are early- to mid-career actors who have completed their training within the last ten years. They will receive an award of $15,000, with up to an additional $10,000 available to relieve student loans. The host theatre companies will receive grants of $5,000 in support of the residency.

ONE-MONTH ARTIST RESIDENCIES - January 1, 2008

Beginning April 2008 Spiro Arts' AIR program will grant artists the opportunity to live and work as part of a creative community. The AIR sessions run from April through May of each year, featuring artists selected from an applicant pool working in a variety of genres and mediums. Spiro Arts requires that applicants be prepared to engage the public and advocates creative interaction. The AIR programs primary goal is to support artists, researchers, writers and composers in the creation of new works, offering an environment that promotes risk-taking and innovation in art. An average length of a residency is one month with 4-5 participants per term. These residencies are fully subsidized live and work spaces. A $600 stipend is given to defray the cost of food, materials and travel. FILM FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES - April 1, 2008

Festival Dates: September 18-20, 2008. There are four categories including: Feature (over 55 min), Short (under 55 min), Documentary and Animation. The festival will accept DVD and MiniDV formats from pre-view screening. Accepted film must be made available on DVD for festival presentation. Productions that are not in English must be subtitled or dubbed in English. Each entry must be submitted with completed entry form. A press kit must accompany each entry. All cash awards will be given tot he primary applicant. Recycled or scratched disc will not be accepted. Entry fee.

JOHN MOORES PAINTING PRIZE - February 15, 2008

Conceptual artists Jake and Dinos Chapman have been announced as jurors 25th John Moores Contemporary Painting Prize in Liverpool. Also judging this year will be art critic Sacha Craddock and artists Paul Morrison and Graham Crowley, both former John Moores prize-winners. First prize is 25,000 pounds and artists can register from today. Judging will take place throughout 2008 with the exhibition at the Walker running from 20 September 2008 to 4 January 2009, forming a central part of the Liverpool Biennial. Entry fee.
