CALL FOR PUBLIC ART PROPOSALS - April 9, 2010

Miami-Dade County Health Department Administration Building. Florida's Art in State Building Program announces a new public art project with a budget of $69,700. The Art Selection Committee for the new Miami-Dade CHD Administration facility would like to commission artwork for one of two potential artwork sites - one exterior and one interior. FOOD RELATED ITEMS/OBJECTS EXHIBITION - April 11, 2010

Open to all artists. looking for food items that discuss the possibilities of sustainability and shelf life while being creative with elements of design and structure. Contributors should have a curiosity in the manufacturing of food. We will accept any medium but encourage artists to work with food or closely related substances. After the show is taken down, these food items will be placed in a locked time chest for 20 years at the University of West Florida Art Department. The time chest will be buried in the ground. CALL FOR PLEIN AIR ARTISTS FESTIVAL ENTRIES - April 15, 2010

Fifty artists will be selected from the open call for entries to participate in a week-long paint out of the unspoiled landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes of this mostly rural county situated on the California coast midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Festival artists will bring both a studio painting and a plein air painting to exhibit in the Art Center's premier gallery space for 4 days, prior to a juried exhibition that opens on Friday. SEEKING ACRYLIC PAINTING INSTRUCTOR - April 30, 2010

Grumbacher paint is looking for accomplished artists who can teach two hour workshops at a major retailer. We have developed a flexible curriculum in acrylics for an artist to use or to adapt it to fit the artist's style. Compensation is $100/workshop. PARK SEEKS LARGE OUTDOOR SCULPTURE - April 30, 2010

The IMA Sculpture Park is a major Northwest art destination, located on over 19 acres in the San Juan Islands, adjacent to the Roche Harbor Community on the shores of Westcott Bay. Seeking proposals from Brooklyn-based artists and collectives for artwork to be installed on construction fences on 3 sites in downtown Brooklyn. LANDSCAPE/GARDEN DESIGN RESIDENCY PROGRAM - April 12, 2010

I-Park announces a new residency for landscape/garden designers. Academics/artists whose practice involves transforming the land and/or working with plant materials are also encouraged to apply. Reside among composers, writers and visual artists during 4- and 2-week sessions from May to November. Work samples are evaluated through a special jury. Submissions are uploaded online: $25 application fee. Residents are responsible for their
transportation to/from the area. Most of the food will be provided. The program is otherwise offered at no charge. Landscape/garden designers will have the opportunity, but no obligation, to create installations on the land. NATIONAL PARK ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM - July 15, 2010

The Affiliate Artist Program offers two- to four-week residencies without lodging (camping is available). ULTRAVIOLENCE THEMED EXHIBITION - April 2, 2010

This spring Projekt30 will host its second exhibition exploring the topic of violence. Our first violence exhibition pushed the envelope, consisting of artworks ranging from horrific to hopeful to hilariously gory. The exhibition will include 30 artists; invitations will be sent to our potent and refined mailing list of galleries, collectors, and fellow artists. All Projekt30 exhibitions are publicly juried, meaning artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors may help select which artists will graduate to the final 30. Unlike other juried exhibitions, all participants receive exposure. Publicly Juried: April 5, 2010 - April 18, 2010. Opens: April 20, 2010. Entry fee.

POSTER CONTEST OPEN TO ALL - March 15, 2010

Adults, Teens and Children can enter. Try to depict what the town was like 100 years ago. The winning poster will be used for poster advertising and post cards. Prize to be $100, presented at the opening of the event.

HEALTHY ART COMPETITION - April 15, 2010

The Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth is partnering with Prevention Connections to host a childhood obesity prevention conference called the Weight of the State in Richmond, Virginia, on May 17-18, 2010. Accepted artwork will be displayed at the conference and then will hang at the Children’s Museum of Richmond through the month of June 2010. Entered artwork must embrace the theme of healthy lifestyles for children through nutritious eating, physical activity and overall positive decision making. Any 2-D work is eligible and all artists' interpretations are welcomed. Open to artists 18 years and older living in Virginia. Entry fee.

INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS RESIDENCIES/EXHIBITION - September 6, 2010

Currently accepting applications for the Budapest -International Artist/Writer Residencies. The HMC invites interested visual artists, musicians, film makers and writers to submit application for its residencies program. Deadlines are March 6, July, 6, September 6, 2010. While HMC does not provide funding for residencies, we are helping to facilitate the creation of programs and support the costs of the exhibitions.

CALL FOR PUBLIC SCULPTURE - July 1, 2010
